Remember with hardwoods it's always better to take 2 passes!
I ruined a good router because I tried to go full depth in one pass? The cutter grabbed and ruined the template and bent the drive shaft 😔

I just finished my first dog tracks project, on a 5”x48” African Mahogany 3/4” board. I made a led strip backlit wall light with just one Cherry dog paw kit at an in-facing 45 degree angle on the far right side of the board. An early Valentines Day present for my wife. It was easy to accomplish using the provided templates, drilling the recommended starter holes, then routing, and waxing the cut-out walls and insert sides before gluing and tamping the pieces in place. Sanding was a breeze as well afterwards. Follow all instructions, and it is an easy task to knock out dog tracks that look seamless and professional. Thank you Slab Stitcher for helping a beginner like me gain a HUGE amount of confidence in pursuing unique woodworking projects like this, as a fun and easy rewarding hobby.

The heart template and inlays was a joy the use! Very little pre sanding of the inlays and template cut true!
Colors looked great on maple and white oak boards
